LLangollen

One of the most atmospheric places to visit. Llangollen is amazing, especially if you love the outdoors. The Llangollen History Trail is excellent, taking you along the canal to Horseshoe Falls, then to the ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey and Castell Dinas Bran high above Llangollen. There are an astonishing range of cafés, bars & restaurants to relax in.

Castles and Aquaducts

Dramatic medieval castles such as Powis and Chirk castle with lavish rooms and superb collections of furniture, paintings and tapestries are close by. Wander amongst the scents and seasonal colours of the rare shrubs and flowers in their stunning gardens.

 

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - the most captivating UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world known as the ‘stream in the sky’ towers 38 metres above the River Dee. Boat trips, canoeing & kayaking are available across the aqueduct.
