Happy New Year and warm wishes for 2026 from a

snowy Wild Valley Huts!

Snow arrived on 2nd January and it's a beautiful, wintery wonderland! The hush, the whispering trees, the babbling stream and the wildlife that calls this valley home are ready here for you in 2026.

This is the time of year when you may and many others set New Year's resolutions. I made them in the past but I was never very good at sticking to them. It's great to know I wasn't alone in this. Apparantly, very few people stick to their New Year's resolutions, with estimates suggesting only 8-10% succeed by year's end, while around 80% give up by mid-February. Over recent years, I've had an alternative way of thinking...

New Experiences rather than New Year's Resolutions

I've changed my approach to New Year's resolutions. Instead of a New Year's resolution, I have a 'try new experiences' approach.

Benefits of New Experiences

  • Boosts Brain Power: New experiences create new neural pathways, improving memory and cognitive function.

  • Increases Creativity: Trying new things stimulates innovative thinking.

  • Builds Confidence: Successfully navigating challenges builds self-esteem.

  • Enhances Problem-Solving: New situations improve critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Promotes Mindfulness: Being present in an experience helps you focus and let go of worries.
