Chirk Castle & Gardens - LL14 5AF

A magnificent medieval fortress.  With over 700 years of history, and the last castle from this period still lived in today, Chirk Castle has lavish interiors and a beautiful and eclectic collection. The interior includes a 17th century Long Gallery, grand parade of three 18th century State Rooms with rich furniture, paintings and tapestries, the unique Servants' Hall and the Chapel music room.

Powis Castle & Gardens - SY21 8RF

A Medieval castle rising dramatically above the garden built by Welsh princes. Remodelled over centuries into the grand home of the Herbert family. Over 400 years, the Herbert family enlisted artists to grow their superb collection of paintings, tapestries, furniture, and sculptures. Today the castle reflects their visions and ambitions. Every inch of Powis Castle is decorated with intricate, beautiful detail.



Garden 

Stretching out beneath the medieval castle is one of the finest gardens in Britain. With dramatic 17th century Italianate terraces, an Orangery, an Edwardian formal garden and a peaceful wooded landscape, there is so much to explore. 

 

Clive Museum 

The collection of South and East Asian artefacts dating from about 1600-1830s is displayed in the Clive Museum at Powis Castle. It is the largest private collection of this type in the UK.

Erddig Hall - LL13 0YT

Explore a much-loved home, garden and estate filled with the stories of a family and their servants. 

Erddig was on the brink of ruin during the early seventies. A crumbling Welsh stately home, the house was sinking, the roof was leaking, and the destructive forces of nature were setting in.  

Today, you see a home filled with a collection of servants’ portraits and poems, fine interiors and furniture. 




Garden 

Restored formal 18th-century Grade I listed walled garden with Dutch influence. Discover a wide variety of fruit trees. 

 

Outbuildings 

Rare survivors of the working estate which includes unique and historic Joiners' Workshop, Smithy, Sawmill and Stables.
