Newly discovered territory and some of our favourite places close to Wild Valley Huts: Since Graeme and I arrived at Wild Valley Huts we keep discovering the beauty that Llanrhaeadr and the surrounding area has to offer. One of our summer discoveries has been the delights of the Mawddach Estuary.
Mawddach Estuary - This is a stunning location, known for its fantastic views of the mountain ranges - Snowdonia on one side and Cadar Idris on the other. The scenery is really pictuesque. (Photo above). There is a fantastic 9km cycling / walking trail starting at Dolgellau to the coastal town of Barmouth - literally, where the mountains meet the sea. https://snowdonia.gov.wales/walk/mawddach-trail/ During our timie there, we visited Bwlchgwyn farm for a pony trek along the Estuary and onto the beach at Fairbourne. It was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend it if you enjoy horse riding. www.bwlchgwynfarm.co.uk
